Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION:The postdoctoral fellow will develop mass spectrometry-based bioanalytical assays to quantify small molecules from different sources in various matrices; perform simple organic synthesis to prepare isotope-labeled internal standards; perform sample preparation and quantitative analyses using various biological samples with respect to pharmacokinetics, metabolism, pharmacodynamics, and mechanisms of action; collect, analyze and interpret the data using standard bio statistical software; prepare presentations and manuscripts; train and supervise junior researchers in mass spectrometry-based analysis; and perform routine mass spectrometry maintenance and daily lab duties. This position offers excellent opportunities for intellectual growth, particularly those interested in the multidisciplinary research fields. It is ideal for the candidate who intends to make independent and creative contributions in their work.
ADVERTISED SALARY:
$47,476.00 annually or commensurate with education and experience
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A Ph.D. with at least two years of research experience of hand-on operation of mass spectrometry
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD in bioanalytical chemistry with expertise, training, and interest in mass spectrometry.
Strong technical ability in mass spectrometry trouble shooting, mass spectrometry method development and optimization, assay development/validation.
The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task with multiple projects and keep pace in a dynamic research environment.
Independent in literature search and literature update.
Have been performing routine maintenance of mass spectrometry.
Familiarity with basic medicinal chemistry and biology is essential to integrate effectively with other group members.
