Postdoctoral Research Associate : St. Louis, MO, United States

　　Position Summary: A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available in the Chen Ultrasound Laboratory (https://chenultrasoundlab.wustl.edu/) at Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). Building on the unique strengths of the WashU Medical School and Engineering School, the overall goal of the Chen Ultrasound Laboratory is to develop novel focused ultrasound techniques to understand brain functions and improve clinical management of brain diseases. Candidates will be considered for multiple projects that include but not limited to the following: (1) Combine electrophysiology, imaging, and ultrasound to investigate ultrasound modulation of ion channels for brain stimulation; (2) Develop focused ultrasound-based brain drug delivery techniques for brain cancer treatment; (3) Develop novel ultrasound technique for brain cancer diagnosis using focused ultrasound-enabled blood-based liquid biopsies.

　　Required Qualifications: Motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a Ph.D. training in neuroscience, physiology, biophysics, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, applied physics, or other closely related areas are welcome to apply. Research experience (academic or industry) in ultrasound transducer design, ultrasound imaging, ultrasound therapy, ion channel, brain stimulation, liquid biopsies, drug delivery, and brain cancer biology are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to perform experimental work, publish papers, and work independently and collaboratively. Candidates must also demonstrate scientific communication skills, enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research and collaboration.
