Postdoctoral position:

　　Tumor immunology and immunotherapy.

　　A postdoctoral position is available in the emerging group of Dr. Suman Mitra at IRCL (Institut pour la Recherche sur le Cancer de Lille), University of Lille, France. This is a full-time position), fully funded until 31/12/2020

　　The emerging team works as part of research unit UMR-S 1172 headed by Prof. Bruno Quesnel to elucidate mechanisms of tumor dormancy and developing concepts for improved therapy for complete remission. In this context, the emerging team will focus on deciphering pleiotropic actions of cytokines in the generation and maintenance of memory T cells in order to develop more durable immune therapy against cancer.

　　The project led by the candidate will investigate impact of cytokine induced transcriptomic, epigenetic networks in the reversal of tumor-specific T cells into functional memory cells. An integrated approach utilizing global transcriptomics, ChIP-seq, and proteomic approaches, along with well-defined cell culture and PDX tumor models, it is expected to unravel mechanistic insight into role of JAK-STAT cytokines in reinvigorating exhausted T cells into functional memory T cells. Furthermore, modified cytokines and gene editing approach will be used to manipulate cytokine induced signaling networks for improve T cell responses. These reagents and combinations should also be eventually tested in state of the art PDX mouse models. . So the animal experimentation accreditation is needed

　　Previous experience in tumour immunology is essential. Knowledge around cytokine biology, Crispr-cas9 technology and next generation sequencing are a plus. The candidate must be proficient in oral and written communication skills in English. The candidate is expected to be highly motivated and able to work independently and at the same time be a team player and who wants to unfold his/her high potential and enthusiasm in an international collaborative research environment. Candidates must have a recent PhD in a relevant field.
