About the role:
Prof Caroline Springer, Director of the Drug Discovery Unit is seeking a Postdoctoral Scientist to join her group. This is a great opportunity for a self-motivated, innovative, meticulous and organised candidate with excellent communication skills to develop, implement and run assays to determine the biological impact of targets under study and test novel compounds to these targets as they are synthesized. The project will have a focus on cancer stem cell biology. You will work closely with other group members as part of a drug discovery programme, as well as with members of the Molecular Oncology Group.
About you:
You should have a PhD degree in a biomedical sciences discipline along with relevant experience working in an academic research setting. Skills in biochemistry, molecular biology and/or cell biology are essential for this post, in particular experience of mammalian cell based assays. Experience in drug discovery projects and high throughput assays would be beneficial, as would a working knowledge of stem cell biology.
