Postdoctoral Research Fellow

　　A post-doctoral research position in the area of immuno-oncology is available in the laboratory of Professor Tayyaba Hasan at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.

　　This position is heavily multidisciplinary, requiring the candidate to take on leading roles in coordinating the research efforts of chemists, cancer biologists and clinicians to translate light-based cancer treatments for human use. Candidates must be interested in research involving light activated processes (photodynamic therapy) and have a background in common cell biological techniques including immune cell culture, an understanding of oncogenic pathways, and syngeneic animal models of cancer.

　　Responsibilities include providing immunological expertise, brainstorming with other team members to develop interdisciplinary solutions to existing problems, contributing to the writing of grant proposals, and the development of new cancer treatment involving photodynamic therapy, immune checkpoint blockade and chemotherapy. Candidates must be energetic, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking.

　　Requirements

　　A solid understanding of tumor biology, cancer therapeutics, and immune checkpoint pathways is preferred. Expertise in animal models of cancer, photodynamic therapy, photoacoustic imaging, pharmacokinetics, endoscopy is helpful but not required.
