Postdoctoral Research Opportunity in Hair Follicle Biology, Cutaneous Disease, and Skin Cancer at the University of Michigan Department of Dermatology
We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to investigate the role of skin epithelial stem cells in hair follicle development, wound healing, skin disease, and skin cancer. Particular attention will be paid to the Hedgehog, Wnt and Notch signaling pathways, utilizing techniques such as in vivo mouse modeling, immunohistochemistry, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. The primary responsibility of this position will be scientific research. Additional duties include: reading scientific literature, giving talks, attending seminars and conferences, and mentoring students. We are interested in individuals with diverse experiences in basic research, who think deeply and creatively, who work independently, and are passionate about their studies.
Requirements
- PhD in a biology-related field
- A minimum of one accepted first-author publication in a high- or mid-tier peer-reviewed journal
