　　Supervisor: Prof. Yu Xiao (mobilecloud.aalto.fi)

　　Starting date: April 1, 2019 at the latest

　　Site of Research: Department of Communications and Networking (COMNET, http://comnet.aalto.fi/en/), School of Electrical Engineering, Aalto University

　　Research areas: wearable computing, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence

　　Optional topics: AI-driven interaction design, activity recognition, resource-efficient deep learning

　　The candidate must have a doctoral degree (or will shortly satisfy the requirement of a PhD) in a relevant discipline, such as computer science, digital design, and electrical engineering. The candidate must have a high motivation for research, and enjoy working in an international and cross-disciplinary team. The candidate is expected to conduct research in Business Finland funded project.

　　Skills and qualities required to apply

　　demonstrated ability to apply machine learning techniques to solve real-life problems

　　good programming skills to quickly build prototypes

　　good written and oral communication skills in English

　　experience of interaction design or AR/VR application development is considered as a plus

　　supervision experience is considered as a plus
