Job Description
We are looking for a postdoc or a technician to lead a multidisciplinary collaboration that will be focused on detection and identification of plant pathogens using Raman spectroscopy. The candidate has to have strong research experience in chemometrics and Raman spectroscopy.
Responsibilities: lead a multidisciplinary collaboration between Kurouski group (College Station, TX) and Mandadi group (Weslaco, TX). The collaboration will include collection of Raman spectra and their statistical analysis using chemometrics. The position will be based at The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Texas A&M University in College Station with an expectation to make periodic trips to Weslaco, TX for a sample collection.
Prerequisites: Ph.D. or M. Sc. in chemistry/biology/biochemistry/biophysics, strong background in multivariate statistical methods, such as PCA. MatLab/PLS_Toolbox or SIMCA experience is required. Motivation to work with sophisticated instrumentation is important.
