Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Wake Forest School of Medicine (WFSM), WFU
Postdoctoral fellowship position (2-3 years secured funding)
is open in Dr. Matthew Quinn’s Laboratory at Wake Forest School of Medicine
studying endocrine factors contributing to age-related metabolic decline. We
employ traditional biochemical techniques with an “omics” approach (RNA-seq,
ChIP-seq, FAIRE-seq, metabolomics and proteomics) coupled to in vivo modeling in both rodents and non-human
primates.
The ideal candidate will have recently earned a Ph.D., M.D.
or D.V.M. Minimum requirements include cell culture experience, basic protein
(immunoblotting and immunohistochemistry/fluorescence) and gene expression
assays (real-time PCR) and molecular biology techniques (cloning, cell
transfections for siRNA/shRNA). Expertise in rodent handing or non-human
primates is preferred but not required. Compensation will follow NIH postdoctoral stipend levels and
includes full benefits.
Interested candidates should email CV with cover letter, along
with contact information of three professional references (name, email and
phone number) to Matthew Quinn, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Pathology,
Section on Comparative Medicine, Wake Forest School of Medicine in
Winston-Salem, NC, mquinn@wakehealth.edu
