　　Research fellow in viral hepatitis research

　　A postdoctoral position in HBV virology, viral-cell interaction and pathogenesis of hepatitis B and C is available in the laboratory of Dr. T Jake Liang at the National Institutes of Health. The candidate will study viral replication and virus-cell interactions by applying a variety of techniques including molecular and cell biology, functional omics, genome-wide techniques, high-throughput screen technologies, chemical biology, and cell culture and animal models. The project will integrate a comprehensive approach to understand the complex interactions among HBV or HCV, infected cells and host with the ultimate goal of understanding the mechanisms of disease and developing novel therapeutics. The candidate will also be part of a multidisciplinary antiviral drug discovery program in collaboration with other laboratories at the NIH.

　　The candidate should have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD with a strong scientific background in virology and cell biology. Experience in bioinformatics is desirable. Exceptional communication skills, both verbally and in writing, is required. Appointees may be US citizens, resident aliens, or non-resident aliens with or eligible to obtain a valid employment authorized visa.
