　　Job Description

　　The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. This position will conduct work in a drug discovery and pharmacology research laboratory. The Postdoctoral Associate will work in a multidisciplinary environment with molecular biologists, pharmacologists, chemists, engineers, and bioinformaticians. The Postdoctoral Associate will contribute to basic and applied research activities and other laboratory duties as assigned, participate in the publication of significant results, and advance expertise through education, training, and/or research experience. This position will also author peer-reviewed publications with the Principal Investigator.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Ph.D., M.D., or other doctoral-level degree. Prefer candidates with a background, through education and/or research experience, in a range of molecular biology techniques including quantitative real-time PCR and Western blot and ELISA immunoassays, and have some knowledge of pharmacology and physiology. Experience with animals is also desirable. Must be self-competent and well organized to be able to work and collaborate well with others. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective in independent coordination.
