明尼蘇達(dá)大學(xué)藥物設(shè)計(jì)中心（University of Minnesota Center for Drugdesign.umn.edu/bio/cdd Faculty Staff/Robert Geraghty）是美國(guó)國(guó)立衛(wèi)生研究院資助的Geraghty實(shí)驗(yàn)室皰疹病毒藥物發(fā)現(xiàn)項(xiàng)目的博士后助理。
本項(xiàng)目采用以靶點(diǎn)為中心的方法來(lái)鑒定阻斷基因組包裝和病毒裝配所需的人類巨細(xì)胞病毒酶的小分子抑制劑。另一個(gè)重點(diǎn)是研究病毒復(fù)制過(guò)程中的抑制劑作用機(jī)制和可能的病毒抵抗特性。

A Postdoctoral Associate position is available starting immediately at the University of Minnesota Center for Drug Design for an NIH-funded project on herpesvirus drug discovery in the Geraghty lab (https://drugdesign.umn.edu/bio/cdd-faculty-staff/robert-geraghty).
This project uses a target-centric approach to identify small molecule inhibitors blocking human cytomegalovirus enzymes required for genome packaging and virus assembly. An additional emphasis is to investigate inhibitor mechanism of action during virus replication and characterization of possible virus resistance.

Required Qualifications. Candidates should have: (1) a Ph.D. in biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, virology, or related field; (2) a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry or virology; (3) published in international peer-reviewed journals.
Preferred Qualifications. Experience working with recombinant protein expression, cell culture, viruses or in drug discovery is a plus.
