The laboratories of Drs. Shou-Wei Ding, Juliet Morrison and Rong Hai in the Microbiology program at the University of California, Riverside, are seeking three postdoctoral scholars in the area of RNA viruses-host interactions (one for each lab).
Research in the Ding, Morrison and Hai labs focuses on understanding the impact of viral-host interaction on viral pathogenesis and its application in the vaccine development with their own special angles. Specifically, the Ding lab is centered on characterizing the antiviral RNAi response and its interactions with the classical immune responses in cultured mammalian cells and adult mice; the Morrison lab studies the roles of lung myeloid populations in influenza outcomes and utilizes virus-encoded interferon antagonists as tools to define previously unknown aspects of IFN signaling regulation; the Hai lab focuses on understanding the interplay of viral encoded IFN antagonists and their targets and developing next generation vaccines using influenza viruses (negative sense RNA virus) and ZIKVs (positive sense RNA virus) as the current models.
Qualifications:
Eligible candidates should have a recent MD or Ph.D., or equivalent (within 3 years of the degree) in molecular and cellular biology, microbiology or related fields. Highly motivated individuals with skill in protein biochemistry, molecular virology, and animal work are encouraged to apply. The Morrison Lab position requires experience with cellular immunology. Previous experience with metabolomics, proteomics, transcriptomics or bioinformatics would be helpful. The candidate should be able to work both independently and in a collaborative environment.
Salary:
Candidates will be offered a competitive salary commensurate with their experience.
How to Apply:
Interested applicants should send curriculum vitae, bibliography and a list of three references by email to:
