The GSI wishes to appoint an outstanding, highly motivated and committed Research Impact Fellow to take a lead in ensuring the Institute delivers impactful research in partnership with other organisations, including business and philanthropically-funded projects. The post is available immediately for an initial period of 3 years on full-time basis.
The Global Systems Institute (GSI) at Exeter is a trans-disciplinary group of researchers, teachers and partners whose goal is to look beyond single ’environmental ‘issues to a truly systemic view of coupled global changes in the human sphere and the biosphere, and to create and implement transformative solutions towards sustainability.
We are particularly interested in applicants who have a strong track-record of innovative applied research, exploiting complex data sets from diverse sources, implementing system thinking and modelling/analysis tools, and building effective networks to create transformative change towards sustainable solutions.
Areas of particular interest and active project partnerships include (but are not restricted to) assessing climate impacts, regenerating degraded ecosystems, quantifying the resilience of systems, evaluating ecosystem services, and open source, network approaches to tackling these challenges.
The successful applicant will be required to work closely and effectively with external project partners and colleagues based within the University’s Colleges and Impact, Innovation and Business directorate.
About you
Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study including industry.
