　　Job Description

　　The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. The University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine is a multidisciplinary clinical and research center in the heart of Miami, Florida. This position conducts a wide variety of research to advance knowledge of life processes, and develops methodologies and procedures for medical use in treating cancer. Specifically, the duties and responsibilities for this position are, but not limited to, supporting basic and applied research activities; understanding and interpreting research protocols and procedures; developing project proposals in line with research strategy; maintaining an overview of relevant research findings; preparing reports of research results for public presentation through seminars and conferences; engaging in writing of technical publications and reports; collecting and analyzing data; maintaining appropriate databases; undertaking literature searches for research projects; maintaining up-to-date knowledge with subject related and professional issues; ensuring all research is undertaken according to good research practice and guidance; and advancing expertise through education, training, and/or research experience.

　　Minimum Qualifications

　　Ph.D., M.D., or other doctoral level degree in a life science field of study. Prefer experience in prostate cancer management issues and/or prostate cancer research. Strong laboratory research experience with cells and pre-clinical models of cancer. Experience with subcutaneous and/or orthotopic tumor models and measurement of tumor responses after radiation and/or chemotherapeutics. Experience with cell culture techniques and procedures, molecular and genomic assays that assess damage responses. Experience with molecular biology and manipulation of gene expression. Prefer experience with histology and immunohistochemistry. Strong analytical skills with the ability to convey information effectively. Ability to work successfully in an independent setting as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
