　　The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI), one of the world’s largest independent non-profit research facilities, stands at the forefront of basic biomedical science, a vital segment of medical research that seeks to comprehend the most fundamental processes of life.

　　We are currently seeking (2) Postdoctoral Associate positions to work within the Laboratory of Senior Scientific Director Tim Spicer. The ideal candidates will have a Ph.D. in Biology, Chemistry or Engineering. The successful candidates will be responsible for early drug discovery initiatives focusing on functional and target-based approaches to modulate disease biology using a variety of cell based and biochemical high-throughput screening (HTS) drug-discovery assay techniques. This opportunity is for individuals seeking to be trained in advanced skills for industrial scale HTS and procedures relevant to the pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidates will be responsible to develop and optimize a variety of assays and implement them for screening on a fully automated HTS platform. Focus will include 3D tissue culture models, iPSC scaling and induction for screening in physiologically relevant human models. Proficiency with operation of common laboratory and analytical equipment and ability to work with multiple plate readers and cell culture would be a major advantage. Proven background in enzyme kinetics, high content imaging, 3D tissue culture, CRISPR and iPSCs would also be an advantage. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and desire to work in a fast paced, multi-disciplinary collaborative team.
