The Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences seeks a Clinical Research Fellow to implement a programme of neuroscience research with Dr Kyle Pattinson (Associate Professor) and Dr Martyn Ezra (Clinical Research Fellows)).
This EEG analysis project investigates cerebral perfusion changes following aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH). We are developing a non-invasive test to predict clinical outcomes that is based on EEG responses to an infusion of the medicine sodium nitrite, and the post would require analysing a follow on study based on the findings of Garry et al 2016 (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/27441898).
The work will require expertise in the analysis of EEG data, strong commitment to undertaking biomedical research and previous experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
The role will include publishing and presenting research results to the international scientific community; maintaining necessary ethical and regulatory approvals and carrying out analysis of imaging and physiological data.
You should have PhD in neuroscience, psychology or related area, or have submitted a PhD thesis prior to taking up this appointment.
The post is available initially for a period of 12 months.
