Job Description
The Research Unit of Nuclear Medicine at the Department of Clinical Research, SDU and at the Department of Nuclear Medicine, Odense University Hospital invites applications for a postdoc position in the field of Small Animal Imaging.
The position is vacant from June 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter. The full-time position is for 3 years duration with possibility of extension.
The Department of Nuclear Medicine performs routine diagnostics via innovative imaging modalities, especially including PET/SPECT/CT and carries out cutting-edge research in the area of molecular imaging and radioisotope-based therapies together with leading basic research groups from the Faculties of Health Sciences and Natural Sciences, SDU. The small animal PET/SPECT/CT imaging unit within the Danish Molecular Bioimaging Center DaMBIC was officially launched in January 2014 by the Department of Nuclear Medicine. The unit acts as a core-facility and intends to develop and offer pre-clinical imaging services to a broader community of internal and external researchers.
The candidate will be part of the daily operative management of the unit, which will include participation in imaging-on-demand services, advisory functions for users, setting up and performing data analyses, data reporting to users and technical support of the equipment. The candidate will be expected to be involved in on-going research and with possibility to establish own research in the area of small animal molecular imaging that may allow for expanding service options of the unit.
Qualified candidates must hold a PhD in medical physics, bioengineering, biotechnology, or a related field. Applicants with experience in the following areas will be preferred:
Nuclear medicine
Molecular imaging in mice or rats
Pharmacokinetic modelling
Documented organizational/communication skills
