　　The Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Irvine is seeking two Postdoctoral Scholars, each to join interdisciplinary projects in the development of biomaterials for vaccine and drug delivery. In the first project, the candidate will investigate and develop nanoparticle materials with tunable immunological properties for cancer vaccines and immunotherapy. The ideal applicant will have experience in protein expression, functionalization, and characterization; in vitro and in vivo immunological methods; and in vivo tumor models.  In the second project, the candidate will be investigating controlled-release of drugs from a nanostructured device.  The ideal applicant will have experience in hydrogel synthesis, drug formulation, materials characterization, and microfabrication.

　　Candidates should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, immunology, or other relevant disciplines.  Good organization, communication, and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting are essential.  The description of each position is available at our online AP Recruit website at:
