A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Fahy lab, a well-funded and highly productive laboratory in the Department of Medicine and Cardiovascular Research Institute at the University of California San Francisco. The project will investigate the mechanistic basis of airway epithelial cell dysfunction in asthma and how this dysfunction contributes to airway hyper-responsiveness and airway mucus gel pathology. The laboratory has a special interest in type 2 airway inflammation and in the mechanisms of epithelial cell reprogramming that contribute to persistence of type 2 inflammation over time in asthma. Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Immunology, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, or a related field. Applicants interested in mechanism-oriented research that leverages access to high quality biospecimens from well characterized human subjects are especially encouraged to apply.
