　　Job Description

　　The List laboratory is a highly translational lab that focuses on identifying drivers of Myelodysplastic Syndromes (MDS) disease development in an effort to identify novel therapeutic strategies. We work closely with the Drug Discovery department to develop in-house, novel therapeutics to treat these disorders. We also work closely with the Malignant Hematology department to initiate clinical trials and to study biological correlatives. Our goal is to identify at-risk individuals sooner, treat those newly diagnosed quicker and more effectively, and devise novel actions of treatment for higher risk individuals. Ultimately, we hope to alter the natural history of this disease

　　• Plan and conduct research experiments with limited guidance

　　• Write and submit manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals

　　• Attend and present data at national conferences

　　• Present project updates in department seminars and weekly meetings

　　• Network and liaison with prominent academic scientists and leaders in translational science

　　The Ideal Candidate:

　　• Documented success in research publications and scientific achievement

　　• Established written and verbal communication skills

　　• Established background in molecular and/or cancer biology, including extensive expertise in techniques including microscopy, flow cytometry, blotting, and cloning

　　• Experience or willingness to work in preclinical animal models

　　Responsibilities:

　　• To organize, plan, and conduct scientific research encompassing one or more projects relating to MDS pathobiology and therapeutic targetting

　　• To diligently document all research activities

　　• To critically analyze research data

　　• To create presentation and publication quality figures

　　• To write and prepare scientific manuscripts for publication

　　• To prepare and give scientific presentations

　　• To maintain all necessary trainings and credentials required for relevant scientific research

　　• To provide guidance to research associates, undergraduate, and graduate students in the lab

　　Credentials and Qualifications:

　　M.D. or PhD in a biology related field.
