A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Texas A&M University. Our lab focuses on (1) understanding interactions between influenza viral proteins and host signaling proteins, and (2) the development of protein-protein interaction inhibitors.
To achieve our goals, we use a multidisciplinary approach combining biophysics, biochemistry, and chemical biology. Our lab mainly uses (but not limited to) NMR spectroscopyand X-ray crystallography as our primary research tool. These biophysical analyses are corroborated by sophisticated engineering of target proteins using semi-synthetic chemical biology techniques, in addition to traditional molecular biology methods. The applicant must have a Ph.D. degree and solid background in biomolecular NMR for structure determination and/or protein dynamics.
