Job Description
The Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center along with the Department of Public Health Sciences at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Associate. We are seeking highly motivated individuals to implement innovative computational approaches for analyzing high throughput genomic and epi-genomic data. Research directions include DNA methylation analysis, next generation sequencing data analysis, biomarker discovery, multi-omics data integration, disease subtype discovery and network analysis.
The duties and responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:
Develops and implements innovative computational approaches for analyzing high throughput genomic and epi-genomic data
Analyzes data and interprets research findings.
Identifies appropriate data resources to conduct and execute analyses.
Verifies accuracy and internal consistency of reports.
Ensures proper technical documentation and preparation of tabular, written reports and oral presentations.
Drafts scientific papers and contributes to scientific literature and conferences
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. or other doctoral degree in a relevant field of study or M.D. Proficiency in using R/Bioconductor and Perl/Python for genomic data analysis is required. Excellent communication skills in English (both verbal and written). Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data. Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
