The Department of Physiology & Biophysics (http://physiology.uci.edu/) at University of California, Irvine seeks applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar position beginning January 6, 2020. The candidates will participate in research projects related to novel modes of ion channel and transporter regulation in the CNS and other tissues. The position will involve mechanistic studies of ion channel physiology and pharmacology and will require prior training and experience in patch-clamp or two-electrode voltage-clamp electrophysiology, and heterologous expression of ion channels. The position requires a Ph.D. in biological or biomedical sciences and/or M.D. from an accredited university. The prospective postdoctoral scholars will work with Professor Geoffrey Abbott (for more information see https://www.faculty.uci.edu/profile.cfm?faculty_id=5869).
Initial appointment will be for a 12-month period at 100% of time at NIH-mandated postdoctoral salary levels.
