美國(guó)佛羅里達(dá)大學(xué)博士后研究員職位
Postdoctoral Associate in Molecular Evolution of Pathogens
We are seeking talented, self-motivated individual to participate in leading edge research in translational bioinformatics as a member of the Salemi lab at University of Florida. The Salemi lab is working on diverse projects using computational genomics approaches and high-throughput experiments to study emerging viruses and the outbreaks the cause, including SARS-CoV-2, HIV, cholera, Zika and other arboviruses. We use computational biology to investigate these viruses, and precisely phylogenetics, genomics, transcriptomics, and machine learning. A significant component of our research is development of novel data analysis and machine learning tools, specifically applicable to biological data. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in computational biology, computer science, mathematics, or equivalent is. Minimum requirements include knowledge of Bayesian statistics, Bayesian phylogenetics (e.g. BEAST), and coding skills (e.g. C++/Java/Python/R). Additional experience with bioinformatics pipelines, data science, and data visualization, as well as Python/R/d3js data mining or machine learning is a plus. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary team of scientists, biologists, clinicians, and computational scientists to develop and implement new algorithms for the study of HIV/SIV and SARS-CoV-2 molecular epidemiology and evolution at the Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida.
