RESEARCHER (BRAIN AGING RESEARCH)
University of Alabama at Birmingham
Description
Position available in the laboratory of Dr. Constanza Cortes at the University of Alabama at Birmingham for a researcher interested in brain aging, neurodegenerative disease research and exercise medicine.
Exercise is a powerful intervention known to reduce the risk for the development of Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, but many of the most at- risk populations cannot engage in the required exercise training paradigms.
We investigate the role of exercise-associated circulating factors on the neurotrophic benefits of exercise, in order to identify novel therapeutic targets for neurodegenerative disease and age-associated cognitive decline.
