Postdoctoral Research Position (Research Assistant/Research Associate) (Fixed Term)

The Faculty of Economics, Cambridge University has a Postdoctoral Research position available for candidates working on international trade and trade agreements. Ideal candidates include those who have recently been awarded a doctoral degree or expect to receive their degree by September 2023. The position is for a period of 2 years. Candidates who will complete their PhD after September 2023 might be considered if they have a particularly relevant skill set. Extensive experience working with administrative microdata and programming mathematical models featuring firm heterogeneity in Matlab or Julia are highly desired.

The position will be based at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Professor Meredith Crowley.

We welcome applications from researchers working on areas of economics related to international trade, trade agreements, trade policy, firm dynamics, and economic development.

This is a directed research post for a candidate wishing to conduct research on the economics of trade agreements. Successful candidates should demonstrate an ability to develop their own research ideas as well as fluency with stata (or similar software) and programming in Matlab or Julia.

Successful candidates who have not yet received their PhD by September 2023 will be employed on University Grade 5 for Research Assistants starting at £27,929 to £32,348 per annum and once awarded their PhD the salary will be upgraded to Grade 7 for Research Associates (Fellowships), starting at £32,348 to £42,155 per annum.
