Wesleyan University invites applications for an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in American Studies beginning July 1, 2024. We seek candidates with expertise in interdisciplinary research areas pertaining to the US and/or hemispheric Americas. The successful candidate will have a degree in American Studies or a closely related field; will demonstrate a working knowledge of the intellectual commitments of the field of American Studies; and will offer courses originating in the American Studies Department to complement the existing curriculum. The teaching load is one course per semester allowing time for scholarly research, and the fellowship will include opportunities for professional development. The position is for one year, and is renewable for up to three years.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants may be ABD (receiving their degree prior to the starting date of the fellowship) or up to two years out from the date of Ph.D. conferral (degree received no earlier than 2021).

After you have submitted all of the required documents, you will see a confirmation number. At that point, each of your referees whose email addresses you have provided will receive an automatically-generated email requesting that he or she submit a letter of reference for you.
