Position Summary
The NYU Shanghai Department of Public Safety is committed to creating safety and well-being of the University community, through growing and building upon its demonstrated professional excellence in providing security services. Public Safety serves the University by preventing crime, maintaining the public order on campus, and handling emergency response and environmental health and safety, with the goal of providing a superior security solution.
The Safety Promotion Specialist will be responsible for promoting safety awareness/education and strengthening the campus safety engagement within the NYU Shanghai community, via the development, operation, and continuous improvement of a variety of safety promotion programs. In addition, s/he will support the professional training program within the security team.
The main responsibilities include:
Responsibility A (40%) Campus Safety Promotion and Crime Prevention
●Develop and administer a variety of campus safety promotion programs, including but not limited to safety presentations/workshops, safety training/drills, field trips, and other community outreach activities;
●Administer the department's social network platforms, including the webpage, WeChat Subscriber account, electronic bulletin board;
●Cultivate partnership internally and externally to ensure the effective accomplishment of the campus safety events.
Responsibility B (40%) Security Training
●Support the development of the weekly/monthly/annual training plan for the security team, track the implementation, evaluation, and feedback of the training plan;
●Facilitate the delivery of the training to security officers, both online and offline;
●Update the training documents and SOPs as appropriate.
Responsibility C (20%) Other Operational and Administrative Assignments
●Support the Public Safety team in internal and external communications by composing work reports and department news, translating files;
●Support to the University-level major events and receive visits of different backgrounds as needed;
●Other administrative work as assigned, such as file archive, office supply. and procurement, team building activities, etc.
Qualifications
Required Education
●Bachelor's Degree; majoring in marketing, communications, or security administration will be a plus.
Required Experience
●Effective written and oral communication skills both in Mandarin and English;
●Strong interpersonal and coordination skills;
●Proactive problem solver and team player;
●Integrity and sensibility to keep confidentiality;
●Experience in a foreign venture/educational industry/security service industry will be a plus;
●Familiarity with graphic design or video production will be a plus.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
●Strong communication and collaboration abilities;
●Effective planning and execution.
