Position Summary

NYU Shanghai is looking for a short-term contracted Fellow, Data Services for the following Summer and Fall semester (May/June to December 2021).

The Fellow, Data Services will research on the standards, frameworks/software, practices, and trends to facilitate and enhance data discovery, access, storage and management at the library. The Fellow will also participate in data interviews with faculty members and contribute to transcribing and analyzing the interviews.

Other duties include responding to ad hoc requests as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

●  Bachelor’s Degree required;

●  Master's Degree in Information Science, Library Science, or a related field preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experiences

●  Strong service orientation and willingness to learn new systems and approaches and adapt to changes quickly;

●  Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive literature review and secondary research;

●  Experience with research on data management and data lifecycle;

●  Proficiency in both English and Mandarin preferred.
